About Convert Them All

Convert Them All is a free online image converter for the formats people actually run into: iPhone HEIC photos, WebP images saved from websites, PNG screenshots, AVIF, TIFF scans, icons and SVG logos. Drop them in, pick a format, download.

Why We Built It

Most online converters upload your files to a server, process them there, and ask you to trust that they get deleted. That means waiting for uploads, daily limits, and personal photos sitting on someone else’s computer.

Modern browsers are powerful enough to do the work themselves. So we built a converter where the conversion happens on your device. There is no upload step, nothing to delete, and no reason to limit how much you convert.

How It Works

  • WebAssembly codecs. The same proven libraries used by desktop software (MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif, libheif) are compiled to run in the browser.
  • Background workers. Conversions run in Web Workers, in parallel, so the page stays responsive even with 50 large photos.
  • Loaded on demand. Each codec downloads only the first time you need it. The page itself stays light.
  • Works offline. After your first visit the site is stored in your browser, so formats you’ve used before keep working without a connection.
  • Clean output. Images are decoded and re-encoded from pixels, so EXIF, GPS and camera metadata are not carried over.

You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab and convert a file. You won’t see your image being sent anywhere.

Open-Source Credits

Convert Them All is built on these open-source projects. Thank you to their authors.

libheif and libde265 are used under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3. They are delivered as a separate script file that loads only when you open a HEIC file, so they can be replaced independently of the rest of the site. Their complete source code is available from the links above, and the licence text is included here. The PDF decoders’ licences are served alongside them in/pdfjs/wasm/.
